The Japanese art of ikebana has always been hypnotizing - its essence is simple: slowing down, choosing flowers by a sense of harmony rather than rules, and shaping the environment to match one’s state of mind.
This vase was created for that purpose - to awaken that intention, to inspire.
The Volcano edition features a deep coal-black textured glaze on the outside and a bright glossy red interior. The vivid red catches the light and creates a sense of movement, reminiscent of molten lava flowing beneath cooled volcanic stone.
Each piece is made by hand from stoneware clay. The opening is shaped by breaking the edge, letting the clay decide its own line. Fired twice, glazed.
